In our role in school foundations, we are often the spaces that can provide the financial support to build more equitable schools. In order to do that, however, we need to have our own consciousness as an organization.This interactive presentation will allow School Foundation Leaders to work together to problem solve and become creative around building a more just organization. The presenter will share her experience with Foundation 65 and the evolution of a relatively benign mission to "Foundation 65 strengthens public education by investing in educators to address racialized disparities and create schools where justice and humanity are experienced by all.

Executive Director of Foundation 65
Alecia is the Executive Director of Foundation 65, a foundation which strengthen public education by investing in educators to address racialized disparities and creates schools where justice and humanity are experienced by all. Alecia has worked in higher education at Northwestern University where she focused on building a culture of equity and inclusion across identity. Additionally, she practiced as a legal aid attorney in Chicago and has worked in youth serving organizations focused on after school and community programs for girls and youth of color. Alecia received her B.A. from Michigan, her law degree from the University of Wisconsin, and her masters degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
